Not all clients who desire beautiful curtains in their Nairobi home live in it at the moment. Increasingly more of our projects with Tanj are being done on behalf of a client in the diaspora, that is, those in the UK, US, Canada, or whichever country is home to them, who is either furnishing or renovating a property and needs to have someone they trust to do the job properly in their absence. This is how we do it.

How Remote Consultations Work

It starts with a video/phone call. We also take the time to learn your vision, your schedule, the rooms being used, and other unique needs -blackout of bedrooms, motorized high windows, and a certain color palette you are operating within. Then we make an appointment with a reliable contact on the ground, such as a family member, caretaker, or property manager, to provide access to the property to our team to take a physical site visit. This is a step that cannot be compromised. Photos alone cannot be used to replace accurate measurements and a proper evaluation of the space, and we will not compromise this, even in the case of remote projects.

Virtual Fabric Selection and Coordination

After confirmation, we post high-resolution fabric swatches in digital format together with the photographs of the real windows where we visited during the site visit. You have a perfect idea of how the light is going to play in the room, which colors are going to be on the walls, and what various options of fabric will probably look like in the room. Video calls enable our consultants to take you through the recommendations in real-time, answer questions, and narrow the brief down until you are happy with your choices. We make all decisions written down to ensure that there is a record of shared decision-making in front of production and no chance of a slip-up.

Steps from Measurement to Installation

After the choice of fabric and hardware and confirmation has been made in writing, production starts. We have informed you every step of the way- when your curtains are in production, when they are ready, and when they will be installed. On the day of installation, our crew will deliver to the agreed-upon brief, capture a photo of the completed work, and leave the premises. Those are photographs provided to you firsthand, to see the finished space in its entirety before anybody sees it. In case of adjustments, they are solved in a timely manner and without any problems.
